Iván Romero

Ivan comes from Vall d’Uixó (Castellón), where he began his musical studies followed by saxophone studying in the Valencia Professional Conservatory of Music and composition studying in the Castellon Professional Conservatory of Music.

He has attended numerous improvement courses and master classes throughout Spain, both of saxophone (classic, jazz and contemporary) and composition in different styles and musical aesthetics, as well as a directing technique. In addition, he has been twice awarded by the Valencian Government to participate in the courses of composition and bands management of the Valencia Berklee College of Music.

Throughout his career he has won awards in performing as a soloist, in a saxophone quartet and in composition. He has a lot of arrangements for a saxophone ensemble, an instrumental ensemble and a band.

Among his compositions we can find works of different themes, styles and sound languages for the instrument only, instrument with live electronics, instrumental ensemble, orchestra and symphony band. His music has been performed all over Europe.

In his teaching activity he has taught saxophone, musical language, chamber music, analysis, harmony and composition in music schools and conservatories and has directed various instrumental formations, saxophone ensembles and music bands of the Valencian Community.
