Oscar Carreras

He began his studies of Piano, Choir and Sol-fa at the Children’ School – Choir of N. Sra. Del Pilar at the age of eight; he subsequently acquired the diploma in J. R. Santa María where he was fortunate to receive classes with exceptional professors in both piano and theoretical courses.

He studied Musicology and Musical Pedagogy achieving a Music degree in Zaragoza’s
Higher Conservatory of Music.

Since 2001 he has been teaching Keyboards, Musical language, Harmony and Combo at the Municipal School of Music and Dance of Zaragoza (Modern Music Department) where he has participated in dozens of educational and pedagogical projects.

Throughout his career he has taken advanced training courses of both classical and modern piano, musical computing, direction of musical groups, etc.

He regularly teaches masterclasses in specialized centers and conservatories of the Aragonese geography bringing modern music closer to teachers and students and, together with the Music Therapist Marta Temprado, he collaborates annually in workshops for people with functional disabilities in Caixaforum.

This Multi-instrumentalist simultaneously teaches and works as a live-session musician, composer, arranger and producer.

Thanks to his versatility during the last years he has participated in dozens of projects as a freelancer with very heterogeneous musical ensembles.

We highlight his activity as Music Director of Now the Musical and his work of composer – and co-arranger of the Angelus Novus Rock Opera.

He has made arrangements and adaptations for musical ensembles both for theater and modern and classical music, highlighting his collaborations with Arbolé, Títeres sin Cabeza, Amici Musicae (Resident Choir of the Auditorium of Zaragoza).

In studio work (session musician, jingles, arrangements, production) we highlight numerous collaborations with artists such as Enrique Bunbury, Carmen Paris, M. José Hernández, Gabriel Sopeña, Tako, Mario Martínez (OT), Carlos Sobreviela, Cuti Vericad, Dada, and lives with El Tiempo (Tour Zone 40 and O.T. 2001-2004), Berzas, Novus Band, Bitterman, Fulanito de Tal, Mono, Nelson Benito, Voyeur, Miss Pepis, EWndorphin Shot, Kleejoss, Indigo, etc.

He has participated in national and international tours with Karamba (Cuba), Tinglao Fusion Band (Cuba-Spain), Wild Woman, Dos Pasos…

In Aragón TV, in addition to participating in galas and promotions in programs he was called to be the pianist of the program “La posada de las Almas” reviewing jotas, boleros, coplas, popular and cultured music with great artists of Aragón.

In this project, once again with great musicians and friends, he participated in the recording of this CD, the first of many as per the care, quality and orientation with which it has created.
